5.1941 - letter Zagreb to 4.bataljun 1.pohodne pukovnije in Sarajevo

29.05.1941 registered letter from Zagreb to Lt. Mirko Bogić stationed in army barracks "Jajce" in Sarajevo.  He was a member of 4.bataljun 1.pohodne pukovnije - 4th battalion of 1. marching regiment.

After NDH was formed on 10.04.1941 , new croatian army(Domobranstvo) was formed.  Stationary battalions(posadni bataljuni) in cities were raised as garrisons and marching(mobile) battalions (pohodni bataljuni) were raised to be moved in the country as needed. In total 22 marching battalions were raised until 7.1941 when Domobranstvo was reformed.

4.pohodni bataljon was raised in Karlovac then moved to Sarajevo, in July 1941 it became part of Vojna Krajina, a special military district in NDH on eastern border with Serbia, on Drina river.

Mirko Bogić after the war settled in Slovenia and become one of great nautical sailors of Former Yougoslavia , he died in 2016 being 100 years old , he was born and  buried in Šibenik , Croatia.  In 1936 he finished naval military academy in Kingdom of Yugoslavia and joined new Croatian army in 1941 . One article on Internet mentiones that during his service in Bosnia  while stationed in Goražde  he used to row a canoe on Drina river, this fact matches data that 4.pohodni bataljun became part of Vojna Krajina on Drina river.
