10.1944 - 13. Marine Ersatz Abteilung to Varaždin Croatia





22.10.1944 letter from Croatian sailor training with 13. Marine Ersatz Abteilung in Dreschvitz on Rügen island to Varaždin Croatia. Briefstempel reads 13.Marine Ersatz Abteilung, Saßnitz which is also located on Rügen island in the Baltic sea. Censored by Wehrmacht censors, this letter arrived more then a month later, arrival cancel Varaždin 04.12.1944. Its a folding feldpost sheet with 1944 calendar at the back, such covers mailed to Croatia are very rare. Text is in Croatian, sender writes that it is safe where he is now, that he is learning German in school and attends (Kriegsmarine) courses.

3.1944 - Posadni sat Osijek to Našice

 



18.03.1944 letter from Posadni sat (Garisson company) Osijek stationed in Tvrđa, Osijek to Markovac near Našice with contents. Text is in Croatian, it is a letter to a girlfriend. Regular postal charge 3,5 kuna was paid in a single stamp, arrival cancel Našice 25.03.1944. This letter traveled 7 days a road distance of 54km, today by car a 50 min. drive.  Censored in Osijek , nice square cancel Cenzura br.17 in red. Osijek censor office usually used red ink for cancels unlike others in Croatia.

K.u.K Marine 1914/15 SMS Sebenico to Fiume, Croatia

 

K.uK Marinefeldpost - undated cover mailed from SMS Sebenico to Fiume(Rijeka) Croatia. SMS Sebenico was a Zara class torpedo-criuser commissioned in 1882 with crew of 13 officers and 135 sailors. The ship served as a training ship with the naval artillery school from 1903 to May 1915. From the beginning of WW I  it was used as  a guardship in Šibenik port and later in Novigrad. In 1918 it was assigned to the torpedo school and served there until the end of World War I. This cover with note Feldpost is from WW I era, probably from 1914 or early 1915 before Marinefeldpost in Pola was estsbilshed. Naval mail from before WW I wasn't marked as feldpost and the postage was always paid.

11.1943 - 392.Croat.Inf.Division to Agram, Croatia



 

17.11.1943 letter from Fp.06480 - 2.Kranken Kraftwagen Zug 392 (Kroatien) to Agram(Zagreb), Croatia. Text is in Croatian, sender notes that he is in Germany. Sent from the Sanitätsdienste 392  or medical services of 392."Blue" Croatian infantry division during its formation in the Reich. Division was formed and trained in Döllersheim,  Austria.
