 26.09.1943 Feldpost cover mailed from Fp.56861 - Ortskomandatur 221 located in Sarajevo (then in Croatia) to Chemnitz in Reich. Feldpost and unit cancel are visible, but cover is without visible censor markings 

3.1918 K.u.K Marinefeldpost Pola to Sanvincenti Istria.

 23.03.1918 K.u.K Marinefeldpost from Pola to Sanvincenti in Istria (today Svetvinčenat,Istra,Croatia). Rare cancel: Zensurstelle Gericht des kuk Hafenadmiral und Kriegshafenkommandos in Pola. Text is in Italian 

1.1945 letter from Pol.Freiw.-Rgt. 3

25.01.1945 letter from Fp.57780C or  2.Kompanie Eisenbahn-Sicherungs-Bataillon 13.  to Znaim in the Großdeutschland Reich today Znojmo a town in the South Moravia, Czech Republic. Bataillon at the time was part of Pol.Freiw.-Rgt. 3 Kroatien .

Letter was mailed from Wien , probably it was carried to Wien in person and mailed from there . SS Feldpost is written on it thus the letter was surely sent from "Polizei Freiwilligen Regiment Kroatien 3,"  which was part of SS Polizei in Croatia.

8.1944 Osijek to 4.lovačka pukovnija in Derventa.

11.07.1944 card from Osijek to 15.stožerna sat , 4. lovačka pukovnija (15th.Hq.company, 4.th Jäger regiment) in Derventa.  Usual postal fee was charged. 4.lovačka pukovnija was part of 1.lovački Zdrug(1st Jäger brigade). Zdrug was at the time stationed around Doboj and Derventa in Bosnia. On the 8th and 9th of September 1944 a large part of Zdrug deserted to Yugoslav Communists forces. Around 800 man that stayed loyal to Croatia were transfered to 3.Lovački zdrug and 1.lovački zdrug was disbabded in October 1944.

4.1915. FKR 37. to Zagreb, cancel 'GOTT STRAFE ENGLAND'

 18.04.1915 K.u.K feldpost card from Feldkanonen regiment (FKR) 37. to Zagreb. Mailed via Fp.44 used by 36 Inf.Division stationed on Russian front in Galicia. 36 Inf.div was one of the Croatian divisions and was based in Zagreb. Sender notes his Fp. number 68 , used by Croatian 42. Domobranska (Landwehr) division, also fighting  in Galicia.

Unusual and very rare is purple cancel GOTT STRAFE ENGLAND (God punish England) , this is only the second 'croatian' card with such cancel that i have seen. As Croatian units  in Kuk army were fighting on Serbian, Russian and Italian front cancels about punishing England must be rare.

FkR-37 was part of 42 Inf.dvision, it was disbanded in 1916.

1943. III.Konjanički sklop to Bihać

 1943. Letter from 4.Sat. III.Konjanički sklop. (4th.company. III cavalry batallion) stationed in Vitez to Bihać . Postage paid in full 3,50 kn , postal cancel Vitez badly visible , official military cancel is straight at the front of cover and round one at the back. 

Zagreb cavalry regiment with 3 battalions was stationed in Central Bosnia in 1943, its III. Batallion was stationed in Travnik with some units in Vitez. At the time total Regiment strength was 2700 soldiers , of those 1200 were fighting in central Bosnia dispersed in 3 cavalry batallions (konjanički sklop).

6.1917. K.u.K Marinefeldpost: SMS Prinz Eugen to Fiume

 26.06.1917 letter to Fiume(Rijeka) from SMS Prinz Eugen. Mailed via Marinefeldpostamt Pola, cancel in the upper right corner. On the left is purple censor cancel from SMS Prinz Eugen. Arrival cancel Fiume is on the back of the cover.

09.12.1942. Croatian Legion(369.Inf.Rgt) in Stalingrad to Croatia

 09.12.1942 feldpost letter from Stalingrad to Zagreb Croatia. Sadly feldpost cancel was cut out by someone most probably because there was a Luftfeldpost stamp. Units feldpost cancel with Fp.46511 is clearly visible, it was used by Stab u. 1.-4. Batterie leichte Kroatische Artillerie Abteilung of 369.Kroat.Inf.Rgt. (Croatian Legion). Sender is Obergefreiter A.Jurković from Fp.46511B - 1st. Battery of Artillerie Abteilung.

Letters content has very interesting message.

Anton Jurković writes that he returned to the unit sometime before, that he was promoted and decorated with a medal. He doesnt writes that German and Croatian forces were surrounded by Bolshevik forces at the time in Stalingrad, but he notes that he mailed a (Luftfeldpost) stamp to adresse that he can used it for mail. He writes: "there is bitter fighting here, but we hope for the best..."

Small piece of letter where a place of writing was stated was cut out by censors, ordinary censorship as well as chemical censorship was carried out by German censors and noted by censors tape and multiple cancels.

Anton Jurković is mentioned as recipient of military decoration in book Hrvatska Legija, the best book about 369. Croatian Infantry Regiment. 

6.1944 Breza to Fp.46786

 

15.06.1944 card from Croatian coal mine in Breza to Fp.46786 - Kriegslazarett-Abteilung 637 confirming coal shipment to lazarett . Kriegslazarett 637 was stationed in Sarajevo, Croatia at that time. Card was mailed via Croatian civilian postal service with all charges paid.

6.1944 Oganisation TODT in Mostar to Sv. Ivan Zelina

17.06.1944 Feldpost  letter from Fp.05386 Organistion TODT Oberbauleitung Mostar to Sveti Ivan Zelina near Zagreb, arrival cancel at the back 24.06.1944. Contents are written in German, describing daily situation there but without any details . Letter was censored and as such marked by round green cancel As/3.

3.1915 K.u.K Torpedoboat 20 to USA

 15.03.1915  card to New York sent from Torpedoboat 20 via civilian post office Pola 1. Marinefeldpost didnt started working yet. Text is in English , senders surname is Croatian Pisrotić. Barely visible is official Totpedoboat cancel in red (upper left) and red censors cancel Uberpruft / Trieste to the left of the stamp. Mail to USA from KuK Marine is very scarce.

4.1916 K.u.K 79.Inf.Rgt to Zagreb

 

17.04.1916 K.u.k Feldpost card from 1.Machinengewehr abteilung of 79.Inf.Regiment mailed to Zagreb by Fp.111 used by 7.Inf.Division. Sender notes date and place of writing card as 16.04.1916 Russia. Text is in Croatian language, this is an Easter card. Beautiful IR 79. Graf Jelačić card was used.

11.1943 letter to Croatian "Legionar" in Lazarett ,Bayeruth, Reich.

 

15.11.1943 letter from Glina  to a Croatian soldier in Laz(arett) der Luftwaffe abt. VI. In Bayeruth in Bavaria, Germany. Title written on letter is 'Legionar' . At that time in Croatia all Croatian soldiers serving with German forces were called Legionares, but such title is extremely rarly seen on mail. Whether this soldier served with Croatian Air Legion or Croatian(Kroatische) flak legion remains unknown . Letter is franked with blue stamp "BORBA", this stamp is rarely seen on covers. Officialy this stamp was pulled from use on 31.05.1942. but this cover proves that in war time postal regulations were often ignored.
