K.u.K  23. Landwehrinfanterie regiment Zara and  23.Landsturm inf.rgt. Zara

K.u.k Landwehr.inf.rgt 23. was raised in northern Dalmatia , over 80% of men were Croats from area.

Unit was established in  1893 with main Garrison and HQ in  Zara

In 1914  at the beginning of war it was part of  5th Mountain Infantry Brigade – 18th Infantry Division – XVI Army Corps. Regiment was on Serbian battlefield until Italian attack in May.1915 when it moved to Italian front and was there till the end of war.  

As usually in K.u.k army,  Landsturm infantry regiment of same number as Landwehr regiment  was raised in the same recruiting area , their  Feldpost numbers follow.
